2023: Atiku will reopen border if elected, Tambuwal assures Nigerians

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, Saturday gave assurance that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would reopen the nation’s borders, if elected as Nigeria president in the forthcoming general elections.

The former speaker made the disclosure at the party’s campaign rally in Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto.

He said Atiku Abubakar has better plans for the country.

“These include reopening of the nation’s borders, addressing challenges of insecurity and the provision of basic necessities of life for Nigerians.”

Tambuwal, the Director General, Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council revealed that his government shares the pains of the people of Illela community over consistent attacks by terrorists.

“However, in spite of challenges of insecurity, economic recess and the negative impact of COVID-19, we have executed several projects under healthcare, education, water supply and social interventions, among others,” he said.

While speaking, Alhaji Yusuf Sulaiman, the DG, Sokoto Campaign Management Council, implored the community to prioritise continuity in governance and give their mandate to the ruling PDP.

Malam Sa’idu Umar, the PDP governorship candidate vowed that the ongoing construction of International market at Illela would be completed by his administration, if elected come 2023.

He, thereby, pledged to continue the trajectories of Tambuwal and float new developmental projects, if elected.

Taking his turn to speak, Alhaji Mannir Dan’iya, the Sokoto North Senatorial candidate of PDP and incumbent Deputy Governor confirmed the achievements of the current administration.

He further charged the people Kware LGA of the state to cast their votes for the PDP in order to continue enjoy developmental projects, which have been captured in the 2023 budget.
