Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday, November 14 said he has relocated to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Tinubu is comfortable running his political affairs from Bourdillon drive in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
Tinubu, during a chat with his former political ally and standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, at the VVIP lounge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday, said he has moved his political base to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The former Lagos State Governor’s resolution to move to Abuja, the seat of power is attributed to the fast approaching 2023 general elections and the campaigns of the ruling party.
The comment was prompted by Atiku when he asked the former Governor of Lagos State if he was returning to his state, but Tinubu noted that he has relocated to the nation’s capital.
The former vice president asked, “Are u going to Lagos?.” Responding, Tinubu said, “I have moved to Abuja.”
The presidential candidates exchanged pleasantries in the presence of their party chieftains.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu and a presidential aspirant under PDP, Mohammed Hayatudeen were at the airport when Tinubu and Atiku met.
Tinubu and Atiku are in the race to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure elapsed.
The two presidential candidates had previously stumbled upon each other at the Kaduna Airport about a month ago.
