Just about 11 days to the general elections, six campaign coordinators of the Bauchi State All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Campaign Council have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The untimely defection, has left a huge gap in the campaign council of the APC gubernatorial candidate, retired Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar.
The chairman of the coordinators, Comrade Nasiru Khalid, announced the decision to bow out of the party at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi.
He attributed their exodus from the opposition party to PDP-led administration’s programmes and policies in the state, further adding that their defection followed due consultations.
The delegation, however, pledged its unflinching support to the ruling party.
Earlier, Bauchi State governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stated that his government has brought the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of citizens through various empowerment initiatives.
