2023: Why we may support Muslim-muslim ticket – Christian group

A faith-based group, Southern Nigerian Christian Vanguard (SNCV) has hinted at voting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next year’s general elections.

Defending its stance, SNCV maintained supporting the Muslim-muslim ticket is far better than another would prevent power from returning to the norther at the end President Muhammadu Buhari tenure in 2023.

The group, however, warned that no presidential candidate of southern extraction should be castigated on the account of his religious affiliation in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking during its meeting in Owerri, Imo State, the National President of the Southern Nigerian Christian Vanguard, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia stressed that it would amount to sheer injustice for another Northerner to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari after eight years.

According to a statement by Bishop Joseph Ajujungwa, the Executive Secretary of the Organisation, Nwaobia noted that returning power to the north would cause the country immense harm to the country’s unity.
