Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi has disclosed that the players are determined to record another victory against Morocco at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Aliyu Zubairu’s team defeated Tunisia 2-0 in their first game in Cairo on Thursday night.
Midfielder Auwal Ibrahim scored the winning goal in the 38th minute.
The Flying Eagles will play against Morocco in their second Group B match at the June 30 Stadium, Cairo on Sunday.
Bameyi expressed optimism that they would scale through and secure first position in the group.
“It is on to the next game. We hope to win and go top of our group on our way to qualifying for the World Cup and winning the tournament,” the Bayelsa United centre-back told reporters.
Morocco beat Kenya 3-2 in their opening match.
