2027 presidency: I won’t contest against Tinubu- Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has discountenaced rumours that he would contest for presidency in 2027.

The former Rivers State Governor says he does not encourage disloyalty. Therefore, he can not run against his boss, President Bola Tinubu.

While reiterating his loyalty to the Tinubu administration, Wike recall for for justice led him and five other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors to establish the G5 to support power shift to the Southern part of the country.

The minister, while fielding questions from a journalist on Friday in Abuja, maintained that excellent character should never be traded for politics.

He said, “Tinubu made me the FCT minister, and I won’t allow anybody to crumble our political structure. No!

“Tinubu made me minister. People don’t understand, I have character. What will happen in 2027? I stood, and I said I was not going to support injustice. I was threatened that they would do me this and that. They tried many options, including using Major Generals.”
