At least 21 passengers are feared drowned after a boat mishap on Monday in Imore, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The accident took place when two boats, each carrying 16 passengers, collided in the middle of the lagoon and capsized.
According to a report by spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, he said that the incident was reported to the Ilashe police division around 7 pm.
Emergency responders, including marine police and local divers, were quickly mobilised to the scene.
They rescued 11 passengers in boat mishap, all of whom were injured and taken to the Naval Hospital in Navy Town, Alakija, for treatment.
Hundeyin confirmed that the search is still ongoing for the remaining passengers, and an investigation into the cause of the collision is in progress.
