AbdulRahman lauds UNILORIN Math Prodigy as Guinness World Records reviews the 31-hour marathon lesson

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor, has facilitated a 400-level mathematics student of the University of Ilorin Sanusi Akanbi Kazeem who had just run a marathon 31-hour, 42-minute, and 54-second mathematics lesson.

If confirmed by the Guinness World Records, kazeem would become the new record holder for the longest mathematics instruction. The current record is 26 hours.

The governor, speaking through his spokesperson Rafiu Ajakaye, eulogised Kazeem’s resolve to create an indelible imprint for himself.

The governor, similarly rejoiced with the parents, guardians, tutors of Kazeem, as well as the University of Ilorin on the remarkable feat.

“Kazeem has exhibited not just brilliance and capacity; his achievement is, in fact, a rare act of bravery, resilience, and can-do spirit. Whatever the decision of the Guinness World Records, we celebrate the Maths nerd for his efforts and his determination to be great,” the governor says.

“His story again demonstrates to all, especially younger ones, that outliers are those who have been given opportunities — and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them.”

Sanusi Akanbi Kazeem, a 400-level student of the University of Ilorin, on Saturday kicked off a 30-hour math-a-thon (the longest mathematics lessons to break the Guinness World Records (GWR).

Kazeem, who started the record attempt at around 11 am. at the University auditorium’s basement concluded his record-breaking math-a-thon on Sunday after completing 31 hour-42min-54sec.
