The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, has urged the Nigerian Super Eagles to secure a win against Libya in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON, qualifier.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Diana-Mary Nsan, Enoh warned the team not to be complacent ahead of Friday’s match against the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
“You’ve made a strong start in the qualifiers, but you need to stay focused. Libya will aim for a draw, so don’t underestimate them,” Enoh said.
Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen expressed confidence in the team’s ability to take advantage of their chances in the two remaining games.
Nigeria leads their group with four points and could increase their total to 10 points with back-to-back wins over Libya, boosting their qualification hopes for the 2025 AFCON.
