Musa Abdulafeez’s 59th minute set piece goal was not enough to give Kwara United Football Club a bounce back victory at Bendel Insurance.

The Ilorin-based Club were visitors to Bendel Insurance in Matchday 13 of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), at the Ogbumudia Stadium in Benin, Edo State.

Thanks to Musa Abdulafeez who opened scoresheet for the Harmony Boys through a free kick played by Mohammed Alao in the 59th minute.

Kwara United players, after a futile home game against Shooting Stars last weekend, showcased a high spirit today in Benin, with the visitors’ goalkeeper, Bamidele Aiyenugba put up wonderful display to stop the home team from finding back of the net.

Kwara United’s Samad Kadri proved to be a thorn in the flesh of the home team, after making several offensive moves to double the lead.

Unfortunately, the league leaders scored an equaliser in the 77th minute, through Deputy Echeta, who deflected a low cross into the net after a corner was half cleared by Kwara United defence.

The goal, consequently, doubled the spirit of Bendel Insurance to start to launch deadly attacks in search of a winner, but the Harmony Boys were able to ward off their attacking threats.
