The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Iyiola Omisore, assured the citizens of Ondo State that the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who has been sick for sometime, would return to his office soon.
Omisore said this on Friday durong a meeting with the acting Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa and other high-ranking members of the party.
He said the National Secretariat regretted recent uncomplimentary comment allegedly credited to the National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, regarding the governor’s health.
Omisore stressed that the visit show solidarity to the state government during this difficult moment, pledging the party’s support for Akeredolu and expressed confidence in his quick recovery.
The APC stalwart clarified that Adamu never spoke ill of Akeredolu, but he (Adamu) he was in the best position debunk the misinformation.
“Mr Chairman only urged people to pray for the quick recovery of your governor, not on account of being incapacitated.
“Our visit, therefore, is to reinforce the position of the national secretariat that we only prayed for the quick recovery of Arakunrin Akeredolu, SAN, and not otherwise.”
