Xabi Alonso has reportedly asked Real Madrid to move for Chelsea target Dean Huijsen in the summer transfer window.
Alonso is on the verge of committing his future to Real Madrid following Carlo Ancelotti’s expected departure at the end of the season.
The Spaniard made his intention to leave on Bayern Munich at the end of the current season, known on Friday
However, according to a report by talkSPORT, Alonso is pushing for Real Madrid to secure Huijsen’s signature as soon as he formally takes charge at the Santiago Bernabéu.
He is confident the defender could be a valuable asset to his squad and regards him fit for the starting XI.
Huijsen has expressed his readiness to seek a bigger adventure elsewhere, just one year into his Bournemouth career.
He has also caught the attention of big clubs in Europe, including Chelsea, who are reportedly in talks with Bournemouth regarding a potential move.
Chelsea is eager to activate Huijsen’s release clause but will now battle Real Madrid for the young defender.
Both clubs are keen to put a finishing touch to the deal before the FIFA Club World Cup start in June.
Huijsen has a £50 million release clause in his contract, which would see Bournemouth earn more than a 300 per cent return on the Spaniard.
The 20-year-old signed for Bournemouth from Juventus for £12.5 million last summer.
