Aluko Ramadan lecture: Islamic scholar preaches self-contentment

Islamic cleric, Fadilah Sheikh Ibrahim Musa Gbodofu has enjoined Muslim faithful to cultivate the habit of self-contentment in the face of current economic situation.

The scholar made this call at the third annual Ramadan lecture organised by lawmaker, representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on Saturday at Isale Aluko, Ilorin, the capital city of kwara state.

The popular preacher lamented the rate at which muslim youth indiscriminately engage in online betting, securing loans from online banks with dubious intents and other illicit acts for pecuniary gains.

The erudite cleric cautioned the muslim believers against the urge to amass wealth through dubious mean as a result of exposure to deceitful media contents on the Internet.

According to him, one of the factors contributing to poor economic status in the country, is indiscriminate procreation without proper planning, stating that muslims abuse Prophet Mohammed’s Hadith that enjoins Muslim to procreate in multitude so that he would be proud of them on the day of judgement.

He therefore said that IIslam does not encourage bad parenting.
