The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 27 suspects linked to various crimes, including kidnapping, theft, murder, and burglary, throughout the state.

Speaking during a parade of the suspects at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure on Tuesday, Amotekun Commander Adetunji Adeleye stated, “Today, we have a total of 27 suspects on parade. Over the past two weeks, these individuals were involved in different law-breaking activities across the state.”

Adeleye added that while there were a few isolated kidnapping cases near state borders, “all 18 local governments are at peace.”

He assured that Ondo State remains “peaceful, community-friendly, and investment-friendly,” with Amotekun rangers deployed across farmlands and government forest reserves to maintain security.

Highlighting specific cases, he mentioned a 30-year-old suspect involved in cultism and attempted murder of law enforcement agents and a 42-year-old named Gbenro, accused of assaulting Amotekun officers. Other cases included Samuel Peter, 21, charged with attempted murder, and Akimade Friday, alleged to have murdered a 65-year-old man.

Adeleye also described the arrest of Segun Owolabi, 20, for motorcycle theft, along with a group of young men aged 22 to 25 involved in house burglaries, naming suspects such as Toba, Pelumi, Ogumade, and Oriade.

Declaring the state as generally peaceful, Adeleye noted the corps’ successful resolution of several community issues, including five herder-farmer clashes. He reported that herders agreed to pay for damages caused and also paid government fines for their actions.
