Arsenal midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe has won his first national trophy with England

Emile was part of England team that defeated Spain to lift the European Under-21 Championship.

The Young Lions won tournament for the first time since 1984.

With the victory, the English young team has ended a 39-year trophy drought.

Cole Palmer’s free-kick which deflected off teammate, Curtis Jones put England ahead as the Spanish goalkeeper Arnau Tenas was unable to stop the ball from rolling into back of the net in the first half.

Both England assistant coach Ashley Cole and one of the Spanish coaching crew were both sent off during the game.

Chelsea forward Noni Madueke replaced Arsenal’s Emile with just over 20 minutes remaining on the clock.

In the final minute, Spanish midfielder, Abel Ruiz lost the golden chance to put Spain level with their rivals as he was unable to convert the penalty awarded to his team.

Throughout the whole tournament, the Young Lions didn’t concede a single goal
