Arsenal settle for draw against Liverpool despite injury woes

Arsenal began the game against Liverpool as Bukayo Saka did a sharp cut against the visitors’ leftback, Andrew Robertson and slotted the ball into the roof of the net in the 8th minute.

In the 18th minute, a poor defending from the North London side saw Dutch centreback, Virgil Van Dijk headed Luis Dias’s corner kick into the back of the net to level the scoreline 1-1 redeeming the Merseyside’s hope.

The Gunners’ new signing Mikel Merino put Arsenal ahead again through a cross from Declan Rice’s cross just few minutes before the half-hour time whistle.

Mike Arteta’s side’s injury list continues to grow as Gabriel Magalhes and Jurriën Timbers were both subbed in the 54 and 76 minutes respectively as it was obvious the duo could not continue the game.

Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah capitalised on Arsenal’s defensive frailty by registering his name on the scoresheet in the 81st minute, taking the scoreline to 2-2 through a clinical pass from Darwin Nunes.
