Former Nigeria Vice President Abubakar Atiku has felicitated Arsenal for defeating Premier League Champions, Manchester City in the Community Shield.
The PDP presidential candidate in the last general election took to his official Twitter account on Sunday evening to congratulate his favourite club for beating Man City in the Community Shield game at Wembley Stadium.
With the victory, the North London side has won their 17th Community Shield, defeating Man City in three consecutive finals.
The glory also saw Arsenal end eight consecutive defeats in competitive games against the 2023 Champions League winners.
The Gunners had only lost two of their sixteen games at the Wembley Stadium.
Atiku tweeted, “Arsenal seems quite ready to hit the ground running this season. Persistence pays. Congratulations, @Arsenal. -AA #ARSMCI👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽, ” he said.
