Former Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress alongside his followers.
Recall that Gwamna left the APC in February 2022 for the PDP, where he jostled for gubernatorial ticket but lost to Muhammad Barde, the party’s candidate.
He was a top mobilizer for PDP’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, in the North-East, where he recently donated campaign office for Abubakar’s presidential ambition.

The Gombe born politician made this disclosure while feeding questions from journalists on Friday in Gombe.
Gwamna, ascribed his departure from the party to internecine tussle to poor leadership, lawlessness and disunity.
He, however, said the hierarchy of the party in the state had failed to address the crisis which birthed different factions within the party.
He further noted his political doctrine is premised on unity, inclusiveness, fairness and justice and “if those are not found in the party then there is no reason to be in that camp.”
“In politics, internal democracy is very key and if you cannot find that playing out, then practising democracy on a larger platform such as governing the state becomes a big issue.”
Gwamna said that the APC is more organised in Gombe State than any political party and has been able to manage its affairs.
He, therefore, charged his supporters to ensure the victory of APC in the state by a landslide win.
