The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has advised the newly inaugurated President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to quickly turn the country around in order to take its rightful place within the global comity of nations.
Oba Ogunwusi implored President Tinubu to recruit young talented minds into his cabinet and put some preventive measures in place to tackle the various challenges currently rocking the country.
The traditional ruler gave this admonition in a press release through his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare on Monday.
While felicitating president Tinubu, Oba Ogunwusi thereby wished the President enormous success in his administration.
According to the statement, “We trust that your administration will be marked by good governance characterized by transformational economic growth, adequate security, and progress for all Nigerians both at home and in diaspora.
“We also trust that you will leverage your wealth of experience as a man of progressive action in mobilising resources and managing diverse interests to unify Nigeria across political, ethnic and religious lines.”
Speaking on how to tackle insecurity in the country, Oba Ogunwusi urged the former Lagos State Governor to carry the traditional institution along.
He further charged the President to work hand in hand with presidents and leaders of other African countries and friends of Africa to advance the Pan-Africa agenda.
“The traditional rulers in this country are the closest to the people as there is nobody in Nigeria who is not a subject of a particular traditional ruler.
“This is why it is important for the government to empower us with more strategic constitutional roles especially in the area of security management and conflict resolutions,” Ooni said.
