Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari said the Boko Haram insurgency in the northern part of the country, especially the northeast as a plan to destroy the country.
Buhari made this comment while receiving members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on Wednesday, at the State House, Abuja.
The President apprised the delegation that his government would continue to improve on Nigeria’s security system, noting that more plans to better the economic system would be unveiled before handing over power.
Buhari said the is beginning to win the war against insecurity, with a specific mention of the Northeast that is currently going through a rebuilding process.
The president revealed this while he was on visit to Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States, the people also averred the claim that things got better since 2015.
“Boko Haram was just fraudulent and a plot to destroy Nigeria.
“You can’t say people should not learn; the people need to grow intellectually.”
Buhari while speaking the visiting clerics noted that the would not renege on his word to rebuild infrastructure in parts of the country wrecked by terrorist attacks.
