The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, the capital city of kwara State, has said adjourned the trial of former governor and commissioner of finance in the state, Mr. Abdulfatah Ahmed and Ademola Banu to 16th of October, 2024.

The adjournment was necessitated by the failure of the second defendant’s lawyer to appear before the presiding judge, Justice Evelyn Anyadike, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

The City Gazette had reported that the court had on April 29, 2024 granted the former finance commissioner a bail in the sum of ₦20,000,000 with two sureties with landed properties in Ilorin, after pleading not guilty to all the 10-count charge read to him.

Ex-gov. Ahmed and Banu are currently standing trial for allegedly misappropriating N10 billion of the state fund during his time as governor.
