A over-speeding vehicle in the capital city of Kwara State – Ilorin, has sped to the land of no return after ramming into a roundabout around Ministry of Agriculture in the wee hours of Friday, June 2.
The driver of the vehicle whose has yet to be identified was reported to have lost his life in the unfortunate lone accident.
The accident took place around the Ministry of Agriculture roundabout along the Sango Road in the state capital as onlookers gathered at the scene of the incident with deep grief sitting on their faces.
According to an eyewitness, over-speeding driver who was reportedly coming from Fate Road lost control of the car, identified to be a Mazda product and crashed into the roundabout around Ministry of Agriculture as fire erupted and burned the strayed vehicle beyond repair.
Aside the driver who lost his life in the process, no other casualty was recorded during the incident.
At the time of filling this story, smoke was still noticeably coming out of the irreversible devastated vehicle car, which was burnt beyond recognition.
Some blood stains were found around the scene of the horrible accident with some parts of the roundabout destroyed by the strayed car.
Lending credence to the incident, the Sector Commander, of Kwara State Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Frederick Ade Ogidan, said, “it was a lone accident, and the driver died in the incident.”
Recall that sometime in the 5th of July, 2021 at the same roundabout, two people lost their lives, while others were sustained injuries of varying degrees in a multiple accident involving two escort vans and three commercial tricycles popularly called ‘Keke Napep’.
