Arsenal are back to winning ways as they defeated London rivals, Fulham 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

The home team showcased an excellent character to send the visitors home with empty hands. All thanks to England under 21 winger, Ethan Nwaneri, who assisted Mikel Merino in the 37th-minute despite clinical defending from Fulham backmen.

The spaniard has been in an outstanding form since he started leading the frontline in January after Kai Havertz sustained a season-ending injury in training, He has since then notched up six goal contributions in eight matches.

Earlier in the first half, Arsenal had dealt huge blow as defender Gabriel Magalhaes was subbed for Jakub Kiwior in what was suspected to an Amstring injury just seven days to the champions league quarterfinal against Real Madrid.

Unperturbed, Arsenal continued to provoke Fulham defenders until Gabriel Martinelli was able to unlock the cottagers’ backline with a fluke assist to Bukayo Saka just 73 minutes into the derby, making the England star announce his comeback from an injury that has sidelined him for more than three months in a grand style.

Substitute Rodrygo Muniz, who disappointed the visiting fans after lavishing a free cross from Alex Iwobi in the 84th-minute, eventually atoned for his error when he put his team on the score sheet in the 94th-minute.
