Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher said Tottenham Hotspur is”disgraceful” after the North London Club’s poor outing at St. Jame’s Park on Sunday.
The Magpies scored five goals just 21 minutes into the game againt the visiting team before Harry Kane’s 49th minute consolation goal.
Carragher said, “Spurs cost the manager his job, they’re that bad. The centre-halves have been poor, the full-backs haven’t been up to it, the midfield has been poor – (Oliver) Skipp’s the only one who’s really tried in there.
“Spurs have let the fans down, they’ve let everyone associated with the club down and it took Stellini half an hour to move to five at the back. By then, it was all over.”
In the long run, the White Heart Club lost 6-1 and now six points away from Champions League berth.
The painful defeat came just a week after their loss at home to Bournemouth.
At the end of the game, Spurs captain Hugo Lloris, who was came off at halftime, appealed to the club’s fans, describing the defeat as “very embarrassing”.
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Cristian Stellini in an interview with the Sky Sports said his team didn’t prepare enough for such an important match, noting that his squad was competent enough, but things were wrong.
“It was my responsibility to decide the system today and we decided to do it differently because we had many injured.
“It is my responsibility to take this type of decision, I took it and it was wrong.
“I have to take responsibility because after we changed system, the game has ended, we had to play better and we did. We scored and tried to fight, but it is very difficult to understand why the first 25 minutes were so bad.”
In the other news, West Ham United football Club defeated Bournemouth 4-0 Michail Antonio put the visitors ahead in the 5th minute.
With the loss, the Cherries the currently in the 15th position with 33 points behind West Ham United who sit in the 13th position after garnering 34 points.
