Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed deal to ply his trade with a Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassri in January.

The deal will see Ronaldo earn €200million (£172m) for two seasons

For the first time in his sporting career, the Portuguese international will play club football outside of Europe.

The initial agreement was reported to be around €100m (£86m).

EVENTNG gathered that advertisement and sponsorship would see the five time Balon d’or winner coast home with the highest wages in the world of sport.

The deal, when sealed, it would mean Ronaldo has lost the chance to add to his domestic and European club titles after winning the Champions League five times, the Premier League three times, La Liga and Serie A twice apiece, as well as a number of cup competitions.

Earlier, Ronaldo was rumoured to have been planning a reunion with his boyhood club, Sporting Lisbon.

In the last month, the superstar had triggered a series of reactions among football lovers after publicly criticizing Manchester United hierarchy in an interview with a British journalist, Pier Morgan.

The condemnation, however, led to Ronaldo’s departure from the club on a mutual agreement.
