President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday received the class of governors he served alongside in 1999 at the Presidential Villa.
Some of the former state governors who visted the President include: Obong Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), James Ibori (Delta), Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Jolly Nyame (Taraba), Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto), Joshua Dariye (Plateau), Bisi Akande (Osun), and Ahmed Markafi (Kaduna), among others.
The meeting took place at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa.
Their tenure as governors ushered in the Fourth Republic after the demise of the late Gen Sani Abacha and the eventual takeover by Gen Abdusalami Abubakar that led to the transition to democracy in 1999.
