A yet-to-be-identified former student of Kwara State University and owner of Campus Screen TV has apologised to one Umar Bashir Sola, popular known as Sola Kafinta, a staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi following a prior defamatory remarks made about the comedian days ago.

Campusscreen has on February 5 accused Sola Kafinta of attempting to take undue advantage of one Success Blessing, a student of Kwara State University, for whom he had promised to provide financial assistance to be able to pay her school fees.

The statement read, “Dear @PeterObi @AishaYesufu @SavvyRinu a bad egg who parades himself as an Ambassador of PO’S campaign in kwara @solakafinta
requested a vulnerable girl who solicited for help to have sex with him before he could assist. Upon getting dragged he used the NPF to Intimidate the poor girl who slept in Cell for 2days, @solakafinta is a rogue and misrepresenting what the OBIDIENT movement stands for @SaharaReporters @SavvyRinu after reaching out to the POLICE PRO nothing was done about it @solakafinta is a wolf in a sheep clothin.”

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Police Command, through a statement by its Spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okansanmi, upon receipt of petition of defamation of character invited Campus Screen for interrogation.

The statement said, ” A petition of defamation of character was written and submitted by one Sola Kafinta against a person known by the SM identity ‘Campus Screen and one Blessing Success, a student of Kwara State University Malete,at the CP office, which was referred to the State Cid for investigation.

“A letter was written to Kwasu, and the lady was handed over to the police for investigation, while up until now the subject known as Campus Screen is yet to report to the CID for discreet investigation.

“The lady suspect was released to the Kwasu SUG president pending the report of Campus Screen at the SCID to hear his side of the story. On Thursday 9/2/2023, a date has been fixed for a meeting of all parties concerned, including Campus Screen, so as to conclude the investigation.

“He may wish to come along with his lawyer if he is afraid of anything. As usual, Kwara State Police Command is a respecter of the rights of the citizens, so justice would not only be served but would also be seen to have been served.”

Campus Screen, however, took to his Twitter account on Wednesday to apologise to Sola Kafinta over allegation that he sought to have sexual affair with the indigent lady before rendering financial support to her, thereby clarifying that it was an “honest mistake” by one of his editors.

“Apology for misrepresentation/ misuse of words
To whom it may concern, We would like to apologize for the misrepresenting words used in a tweet sent by the campus screen media. On the 11th of January,2023 a tweet was made through the campus screen media’s Twitter account calling out a certain @solakafinta on a matter that transpired between him and a lady named Success Blessing.

“In the tweet, a picture and chat between the said individuals were placed side by side and was quoted as.“ an alleged political fraud promised a lady tuition with the only option of having sexual intercourse with him” We are deeply sorry for using such words “ political fraud” and “ sexual intercourse” rather than using the original word from the chat “get down with me”.

“This was an honest mistake made by one of our editors.
We do regret this mistake and we understand the words were maimed. The brand sincerely apologizes for the misconception these words have caused.
