First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Professor Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has urged pharmacy students to remain in Nigeria after graduation and contribute to the country’s development rather than seeking opportunities abroad.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, at the Pharmaceutical Students Association of Nigeria (PANS) Annual Conference at the University of Ilorin, the First Lady emphasized that true success and growth come from dedication to one’s home country.

“There is no greener pasture than the one you cultivate yourself,” she said, encouraging students to use their skills to improve Nigeria’s healthcare system.

While acknowledging the challenges in Nigeria’s health sector, Professor AbdulRazaq highlighted the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to enhance healthcare services. She reassured the students that their contributions as pharmacists are critical to a nation of over 200 million people.

She emphasize the vital role pharmacists play in solving the country’s healthcare issues.
“Nigeria needs you to make a difference,” Olufolake stated,

She concluded by encouraging students to acquire the best knowledge and skills, whether in Nigeria or abroad, but to ultimately return and help build a better, more prosperous Nigeria.
