The Department of State Services (DSS) has proposed a condition to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and oil marketers to put an end to the fuel scarcity and price hike.

Spokesman of the security outfit, Peter Afunanya gave the order while feeding questions from pressmen in Abuja after meeting with stakeholders in the petroleum sector.

He said failure to comply, the DSS will activate its operations nationwide.

According to Afunanya, fuel scarcity has brought untold hardship on Nigerians.

He noted that during the meeting, the NNPC admitted it has sufficient fuel that will sustain Nigerians throughout the festive period.

Due to scarcity of the commodity, it is now sold for N250 per litre from the uniform price of N169/litre, thereby causing long queues at filling stations as motorists and business owners struggle to buy fuel while others patronise black market.
