Operatives of the Department of State Security, (DSS), have stormed the office of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele in Abuja.
The financial expert has been at a loggerheads with the DSS over allegation of terrorism financing.
The secret police had earlier approached to secure an order court to arrest Emefiele who has been out of the country for his annual leave.
However, the FCT High Court had in December 2022 barred the secret service from arresting, inviting, or detaining Emefiele.
DSS took over Emefiele’s office on Monday noon with 20 vehicles filled with armed personnel.
The operatives have prevented all workers of the apex bank from entering Emefiele’s office.
