The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has stated it arrested a cleric, twin brothers and 25 others for their alleged involvement in internet fraud in the capital city of Ilorin, Kwara State.
Spokesperson of the anti-graft commission, Wilson Uwujaren, made this disclosure on thursday while addressing newsmen in Ilorin.
The EFCC image maker revealed that the arrest was effected at the Mandate area of Ilorin West Local Government of the state.
He furthered that EFCC acted on credible hints that some individuals perpetrated internet frauds in the area.
“Preliminary investigation revealed the identity of the arrested suspects are six students and mining operator, among others,” he said.
According to Uwujaren, some of the items recovered from the suspects include 10 exotic cars, different brands of laptops, cell phones, printers among others.
He disclosed that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
