Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday, shunned the call to appear before the House of Representatives.
Emefiele also failed to honour an invite from the House last week Thursday.
The legislators had invited the CBN Governor to explain the recent policy of the apex bank limiting cash withdrawals by individuals and corporate institutions from the banks, ATMs and POS operators.
The Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, CBN, Edward Adamu, had written to the House, informing them that Emefiele alongside President, Muhammadu Buhari was on an official assignment to the United States.

Despite the president retuning from the United States, the CBN insisted that Emefiele was still having some official engagements, therefore he would not be able to make to the National Assembly.
This development followed agitations by a group of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and some lawyers alleging plans by the Department of State Security (DSS) to arrest and detain the the CBN governor.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had also turned down a motion exparte by the secret police to arrest and detain Emefiele on suspicion of terrorism financing and other alleged economic crimes against the nation.
