Aston Villa were close to scoring through a howler from Magalhaes Gabriel, but Ollie Watkins’s shot ricocheted off the goal post.
Late goals from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins sent Arsenal the 2nd position in the EPL with 71 points.
