The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, the capital city of kwara State, adjourned the trial of former governor and commissioner of finance in the state, Mr. Abdulfatai Ahmed and Demola Banu respectively to 25th and 26th of June, 2024.

Recall that Abdulfatai Ahmed appeared before Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court on Friday, 23rd of February, 2024, for allegedly misappropriating N10 billion of the state fund during his time as governor.

Meanwhile, Banu’s absence on Friday stalled his arraignment, causing the prosecution to apply for a bench warrant.

After his arraignment on Monday, the court granted the former finance commissioner a bail in the sum of ₦20,000,000 with two sureties with landed properties in Ilorin, the state capital, after pleading not guilty to all the 10-count charge read to him.

The Justice, thereafter, ordered the deposition of his international passport with the court, among other conditions.
