A former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has expressed optimism that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, will win the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
In his respond to insinuations that the minister, who lost the July 2022 his re-election to Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is not interested in contesting in 2026, Oyintiloye clarified that Oyetola remains the All Progressives Congress, APC’s, best choice.
In a release on Wednesday, Oyintiloye stressed that Oyetola should have the right of first refusal for the APC 2026 ticket, noting that Oyetola is still in the race.
The APC chieftain said that Oyetola has been consulting key stakeholders to mend broken fences ahead of the 2026 poll in the state.
“We have a clear vision and strategy as a party. Oyetola is well-prepared to lead this charge, and the people of Osun are eager for change. He will contest and win the 2026 governorship election,” Oyintiloye stated.
He thereby commended Oyetola’s tenure, citing noticeable developments in different sectors despite limited financial resources.
Oyintiloye called on APC members to remain united and queue behind Oyetola ahead of the 2026 election.
