The federal government has opened an online portal for Nigerians interested in converting their vehicles from using Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to Compressed Natural Gas, CNG.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) titled “Payment Plan to Make it Easier to Switch to CNG,” the government announced that Nigerians can now apply for the conversion through the portal and pay in monthly installments.
The statement emphasized that the process is designed to be flexible, offering applicants the option to convert their vehicles now and spread the cost over time.
It also highlighted that users will receive support throughout the application and conversion process to ensure a seamless experience.
The NOA detailed the benefits of CNG, including cost savings, reduced environmental impact, enhanced engine life, and proven safety and reliability.
