Kwara State Government through Ministry of Energy has announced that five the Ministry new electric transformers would be installed in five communities in the state.
The Commissioner of Energy, Femi Agbaje, highlighted the communities that would benefit from the infrastructure to include: Oke-Odo community, Erin-Ile in Oyun local government; Offa General Hospital (Offa LG); Obbo- Ile community, Palace Area (Ekiti LG); Oke-Ayewu community, in Shao (Moro LG); and As-Sunnah Kutashi, Tanke Oke-Odo, in Ilorin South local government respectively.
The state government, had recently ordered installation of 400 units of solar street lights and 18 transformers for several communities across the sixteen local governments of the state.
Agbaje noted that project was an indication of the current administration commitment to better the lives of the Kwaran populace, further expressing governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq’s resolve to continue to build on the socio – economic development in every part of the state.
The commissioner revealed that lack of access to constant power supply retards the economic growth of affected communities.
