Kano State Governor, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje has sacked the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adam.
The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, made this announcement, Saturday, December 31,
Tahar’s dismissal took immediate effect.
He revealed that the commissioner was removed the state executive council following his inappropriate behavior and several vulgar speeches as a public servant.
Malam Garba maintained that he was administering the affairs of his ministry as personal business and even reduced work days for the staff of the ministry without due consultation, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays.
The commissioner was also alleged of not being outrightly loyal to the government.

According to Garba, Governor Ganduje has forwarded the name of a nominee, Dr Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of Bayero University, Kano as a replacement to the House of Assembly for screening and appointment as the new commissioner.
Garba on behalf of the governor, wished the dismissed commissioner the best of luck in his future endeavors.
