Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, has directed Nigerian soldiers under Operation Fansar Yamma to expedite move to capture notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji.

Badaru gave the order in Gusau, Zamfara State, on Thursday while addressing troops at the One Brigade Headquarters.

His visit was aimed at receiving updates on ongoing military operations in the region.

The minister conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s satisfaction with the progress made by the troops in combating banditry in recent months, noting that, “President Bola Tinubu has recognized the improvement in operations against terrorists in the region.”

Badaru lamented that despite this progress, bandits constitute a major threat to the lives of the people.

He reaffirmed President Tinubu’s will to provide all the necessary logistics to intensify the fight against banditry and charged the troops to relent.

“President Tinubu has asked me to thank you and encourage you to keep pushing to eliminate insecurity in these areas.

“He is fully committed to supplying everything needed to eradicate banditry in the Northwest and across Nigeria,” Badaru added.

“Are you ready to finish them off? Are you ready to end banditry in this country? Get me Turji, dead or alive.”
