Barely few hours after Comrade Musbahu Esinrogunjo resigned his position as Senior Special Assistant on Rural Mobilization, the executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, in a swift response through his Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye announced Idowu Rasaq Imam as the new Senior Special Assistant on Rural Mobilization.

Eshinrogunjo in his letter of resignation dated October 31, 2022, addressed to the Governor through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Saba Jibril, and obtained by EVENTNG in Ilorin Monday, said that the resignation was purely personal.

The letter reads in part, “Your Excellency Sir, the resignation is for personal reasons.

“While thanking you for the opportunity to serve under your administration, please accept my best wishes.”

Esinrogunjo had on 12 October, 2022 received the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, at his personal office along Geri Alimi Road, Ilorin and exchanged pleasantries.

The former O To Get crusader’s resignation has further fueled speculation of his likely defection to his former party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP following his camaraderie with the former Kwara State governor.

In similar developments, Governor AbdulRazaq has forwarded to the State House of Assembly the names of two nominees for the vacant cabinet slots for Ilorin South and Edu Local Government Areas and also appointed Ibrahim Orire, who hails from Wara Osin Ward, as Special Assistant on Transportation.
