Gov. Buni doles out N50,000 each to 200 orphans, employes 400 widows

Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has instructed the Ministry of Wealth Creation Empowerment and Employment Generation to engage 400 widows in order to be self-reliant.

Gov. Buni gave the directive today when he hosted 200 orphans from the 17 local government areas of the state.

The Governor who empowered the 200 orphans with the sum of N50,000 each, revealed that it is responsibility of the government cater for the common people in society.

He said it is a constitutional obligation to provide succour to the orphans and the less privileged.

“Our decision to wade into supporting the orphans, widows among other vulnerable groups is to empower them with a start-up capital for self-reliance.

“We must join hands together to help those who lost their parents taking into cognizance the decade age long insurgency suffered across the state.

Buni, however, eulogized the Qatari Foundation for their infrastructural contribution to orphans and vulnerable people across the state.

Coordinator of the programme and Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Babagana Mallam Kyari praised Governor Buni for his constant response to the need of orphans and widows in the state.

“This is the second time His Excellency is directly supporting another set of 200 orphans with cash

“This gesture will surely go a long way in cushioning the hardships of making ends meet” Ustaz Kyari said.
