Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni CON and his entourage have visited the newly constructed Maternal and Childcare Health Complex at the State University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu.
Governor Buni expressed satisfaction with the 100 per cent completion of the structure.
The health facility, which is the biggest Maternal and Childcare Health Complex in Nigeria, will be commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari after his medical vacation in London.
The equipping of the complex has commenced with office equipment and is expected to be completed soon.
Governor Buni holds the project dear to his heart to check the menace of maternal and child mortality and morbidity in the state.
He explained that the project is part of the holistic approach to providing accessible and affordable healthcare to the people of Yobe state.
The Buni led government also introduced the Yobe state Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YOCHMA) and Yobe Drugs Management Agency (YODMA) to provide adequate and affordable healthcare delivery to the masses.
This is in addition to the functional Primary Healthcare centers established in 138 out of 178 political wards across the state.
Buni expressed his administration’s commitment to delivering appreciable healthcare services in the state.
