Oyo State Labour Party, LP, has announced the adoption of Governor Seyi Makinde as its governorship candidate for the March 11 governorship poll.
LP chairman, Sadiq Atayese noted that the opposition party adopted Makinde as it’s gubernatorial candidate as a result of his sterling performance and competence.
Atayese, however, in a press conference on Sunday, Atayese, admonished the people of the state to vote for LP candidates at the state assembly elections.
He furthered that the February 25 presidential election has proven that no party can “win the coming gubernatorial election single-handedly.”
Atayese maintained that the the party collapsed its structure for Makinde because his administration shares the similar ideologies with LP in terms of security, infrastructural development, food security, education and human capital development.
“It is of note that the present PDP administration under Gov. Makinde has presented its scorecard from the health sector with the provisions of Primary Healthcare Centres in every ward to security, others,” he added.
