Hilda Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci, is a reknown Nigerian TV personality, actress and chef born on the 20th of September, 1996. She is an indigene of Akwa Ibom State.

The talented YouTuber and entrepreneur is based in Lagos.

The young Bassey is the Chief Executive Officer and Head Chef of MyFoodbyHilda. She kick-started her culinary profession as a chef several years ago with little known about the multi-talented lady.

In the course of her culinary profession, Bassey has carved a niche for herself without enviable culinary skills which have over the years serious of awards.

Baci is accustomed to record breaking as she won the maiden edition of the ‘Jollof Faceoff’ competition in August 2021.

The Nigerian Chef has currently embarked on a mission to beat the Guinness World Record for longest cooking time by an individual.

Baci, as she otherwise called is at present challenging an Indian chef, Lata Tondon currently holds the world’s longest cooking marathon and

Tondon concluded her cooking in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in Rewa, India in 2019.

Baci began her 4-day cooking marathon challenge on Friday,11th of May, 2023 at the Amore Gardens, in Lekki Phase one, Lagos State

The 27-year-old lady is closed to finishing above Lata Tondon as she has prepared well over 120 delicacies in about 89 hours and has 5 more hours to go.

Personalities in Nigeria Show Support for Hilda Baci

Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has praised the young Akwa-Ibom indigene in an Instagram live video chat on Sunday using a caption, “IDAN doesn’t break, she breaks records. We’re rooting for you, Hilda.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State also wrote on his official Twitter account, “I showed up to support Chef Hilda Baci, in her quest to break the Guinness World Record @GWR for the longest time spent cooking by an individual.

“Her dedication, passion for cooking as well as her desire to put our rich culture on the map by not only exhibiting our food but also the resilience, determination, energy and team spirit that has come to be known as the spirit of Lagos and indeed Nigeria is truly remarkable.

“We are proud to have Hilda embarking on this journey in our state. I will continue to follow the updates and look forward to the final declaration.

Also, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could not hide his support for Baci as he said, “standing at the crossroads of history, ready to carve your name in the annals of world records”.

Atiku added, “This is no easy feat, but we believe wholeheartedly in your grit and your passion. You are inspiring millions by showcasing the strength of the human spirit. May your energy remain unbroken, for you are on the brink of making history. We believe in you. Nigeria believes in you.”
