Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has called on human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, Folarin popularly known as Falz, to hold social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, accountable for spreading defamatory content about him online.

Bobrisky refuted allegations that he paid Falana and Falz to secure a presidential pardon during his imprisonment.

This statement came in response to Falana and Falz’s demands for a public apology and retraction of defamatory claims circulating on social media.

Previously, The City Gazette reported that Bobrisky had claimed he contacted Falz to ask his father (Falana) to obtain a presidential pardon for a fee of ₦10 million.

He also allegedly requested ₦3 million from Falz for special treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

In another audio clip shared by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly stated that he paid ₦5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to secure a government pardon for charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

However, in a letter dated October 14, 2024, issued by Falana’s legal team, Bobrisky was accused of making false and defamatory statements regarding Falana and his son’s involvement in the alleged bribery and pardon scheme.

The legal team demanded a full retraction and an apology to be published on all platforms where the claims were made.

In response, Bobrisky insisted that he never paid any money to Falana or Falz for a pardon and maintained that the person who shared the defamatory content should be held accountable.

“I, Okuneye Idris, aka Bobrisky, didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for a pardon. No money was given to them. The person who published the audio online should take full responsibility for what he posted,” Bobrisky stated on Instagram.

In another post, Bobrisky emphasized that he did not publish any defamatory statements about Falana or Falz and reiterated that the sharer of the content should be held liable.

He also stressed his right to privacy in his communications.
