The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has on Sunday declared Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the Adamawa governorship election.
The female lawmaker defeated the incumbent Ahmed Fintiri of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in a rerun election on held on Saturday.
With this announcement, Binani has made history as the first female governor-elect in Nigeria.
