IPOB denies attacks on INEC facilities

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has distanced itself from the recent destruction of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) properties in Owerri, Imo State.

In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the group, Emma Powerful, the agitating group said it outrightly denied its involvement in any election obstruction or social unrest in the country.

The movement further said it
could only instruct the Igbo race not exercise their franchise in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The separatist association, thereby, charged the security agencies to apprehended the actors behind the sit-at-home order in the Southeast, beginning from December 9 to 14, referring to them as miscreants.

Recall that in a video clip that went viral on the social media, an unknown man had threatened people in the Southeast to stay at home on December 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14.

The unidentified voice further warned that anybody who flouted the order to sit-at-home order would death consequence.

It, therefore, added that people should start buying what they needed from now till December 8.

Powerful, however, maintained that the IPOB leadership is not responsible for the sit-at-home order on the specified days.
