The United States, on Monday, said that it would not desist from supporting Israel in the face of its hostility with Iran.

The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, assured Israel of his country’s support against Iran’s oppression, saying the country is not alone in the fight.

He made this disclosure at the commencement of a meeting with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammed Ali Tamim.

Blinken, who called Iran’s actions unprecedented, said: “We don’t seek escalation, but we’ll continue to support the defence of Israel and to protect our personnel in the region.

“What this weekend demonstrated is that Israel did not have to and does not have to defend itself alone when it is the victim of aggression, the victim of an attack.”

During the weekend, Iran had shot over 300 drones and missiles at Israel to avenge the April 1 assault on Iran’s consulate in Syria that left some of its generals dead.

However, US France and other allies came to the aid of middlewast country after intercepting most of the missiles and drones launched by Iran.
