Elder brother of Adegbola Abdulazeez, popularly known as Tani Olohun, a traditionalist accused of blasphemy and defamation of Islam scholars in Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State, has said his younger brother ordered members of his family not to beg his petitioners on his behalf.
Ibrahim made this statement in a video released on Thursday, September 7, after a court proceeding in Ilorin on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Contrary to claim that none of his relatives was allowed to visit him at the prison, Adegbola revealed he was in constant communication with his brother, who was remanded at a correctional facility in Ilorin.
He further expressed his disappointment at how fellow muslim faithful hurled curses and insults at Tani Olohun.
He therefore admitted the fact that his younger brother might have erred but lamented that the insults were unnecessary.
The elder brother said that the Isese activist was a good muslim before he embraced traditional religion, noting that his conversion stirred a serious disagreement between two of them before they eventually resolved the issue.
He maintained that he was embittered by the manner Tani Olohun disrespected some Islamic clerics in the state and beyond, adding that it is improper to dishonour religious leaders in Islam.
Adegbola, however, added that he is ready to accompany his brother to apologise to the Islamic clerics he offended whenever he is released.
