An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (FT-7NI trainer) has crashed in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
Channels Television reports that the incident took place on Friday, July 14 during a routine training exercise.
The medium also gathered that the unfortunate incident has been confirmed by the Nigerian Air Force Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
He maintained that two pilots onboard the aircraft survived the accident and have since been rushed to a military hospital for urgent medical attention.
“Both pilots are currently under observation at NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi. Meanwhile, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has constituted a Board of Inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash,” he said.
